Project Description

This project involved rehabilitating a steel bridge structure constructed in 1912 with passed directly over Jacksons Creek, in the Township of Georgina. Some of the challenges we faced included maintaining access for boats within the Navigable Channel, maintaining full environmental containment of sandblasting material and the potential of hazardous waste from the original lead paint, and safety concerns with working over water and with high winds. Our team constructed a unique temporary scaffolding system which combined 2 separate scaffold systems to encapsulate the entire structure, with considerations on weight restrictions of the structure, the system was designed with considerations of wind and weight.
We completed this project on time and within budget for our client.

The scope of work for the project includes but is not limited to the following:
· Preparation and implementation of a traffic management plan
· Implementation of environmental protection measures
· Structural steel repairs including design and implementation of temporary shoring as required
· Concrete repairs
· Waterproof coating of bridge deck
