Scope:
The City of Kawartha Lakes has contracted the work of reconstructing the entire Mill Pond Bridge to GMP Contracting in early 2021. Not without its challenges, our crew of experienced staff implemented a water management plan in order to demolish the current structure without harming the aquatic life below. Elements of this project included; flow management plan, remove existing bridge superstructure, repair and restore piers, reconstruct ballast walls, install precast concrete girders, lay new concrete deck and construct new cantilever pedestrian walkway to name a few larger items.
